Biography

Liva Pierce is a writer and comedian based in New York. After graduating from high school, Liva took a gap year to pursue comedy at the Harold Ramis Film School at The Second City. While there, Liva began screenwriting and worked on short films that would go on to be accepted at film festivals across the country. In 2018, one of their pilots was a semi-finalist for the Sundance Episodic Lab.

As well as screenwriting and film production, Liva has been performing improv, sketch, and stand-up around Chicago and New York for three years. They have "done their thing"* at venues such as The iO Theater, The Hideout, Brooklyn Comedy Collective, and Stand Up NY. Online, Liva has received attention from Buzzfeed and The Guardian (among others) for their front-facing comedy videos. After Liva's viral video 'when characters in musicals transition from speaking to singing' garnered over eight million views on Twitter, Vulture featured Liva as their best up-and-coming comedian of the week.

At 6'2", Liva has a long way to fall. Once, several years ago, they tore their ACL just from walking.

*Not citing anyone. This phrase just looked better in quotation marks to Liva.
